About Jared
Jared was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He was heavily involved in Theatre throughout Middle School and High School at Donelson Christian Academy. He attended college at Middle Tennessee State University where he studied all aspects of Theatre. He focused on Lighting Design, Electrics, Scenic Design and Technical Direction. Jared was active in the MTSU Theatre and Dance Departments. He served as a Technical Director, Assistant technical Director, and Master Carpenter while working in the scene shop. He was a Lighting Designer for the Dance Department's Concerts held at the end of each semester 5 out of 8 concerts. In his senior year, he was the Stage Manager/ Lighting Designer for Summer of the Hummingbirds by Josh Ginsburg which went to KCACTF in 2011. Jared graduated in May 2011 with a B.S. in Speech and Theatre with an concentration in Technical Theatre, a minor in Entertainment Arts and Design and a minor in Secondary Education (non-certified).
Jared was hired to several positions during his 4 years at MTSU. He worked part time in the Theatre Department Scene Shop for 3 and a 1/2 of his 4 years, he worked as a technician for Tucker Theater for 2 years during his freshman and sophomore year later becoming the Technical Director for Tucker Theater during his senior year (10/11). He was the Department Master Electrician during his junior year (09/10). He was hired to be the Technical Director for the American College Dance Festival in 2009 & 2010 hosted by MTSU. He also worked for MTSU's on campus production company as a Lighting Technician (08/09) later becoming a Lead Technician/ Ligthing Designer (09/10).
Every student has the decision to make...what to do with your summer break. Jared went to work at Interlochen Center for the Arts. He worked on the Production Crew as a Lighting Technician for two years (08 & 09) In the summer of 2010, he joined the Theatre Department as the Assistant Technical Director of the Intermediate Division productions which he continued in 2011 and is looking forward to doing in 2012!
After Graduation and a summer at Interlochen, Jared began working as a free-lance technician in Nashville. He worked for a variety of companies such as: the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Bradfield Stage Lighting, Convention Production Services, Tennessee Repertory Theatre, Nashville Ballet, and Nashville Shakespeare Festival. He also works as a Project Coordinator for Hands On Nashville, a volunteer resource agency, helping manage corporate projects throughout Nashville.
Jared moved to Tampa, FL in August 2012 to work for Busch Gardens Tampa. He was employed as a Technical Manager for Special Projects in the Entertainment Department. While at Bush Gardens, He operated one of the 7 haunted houses during the 13th year of Howl-0-Scream. He also installed and struck the 1st year of Christmas Town. In addition, He operated the Christmas light show at the Crown Colony restaurant during this show. His responsibilities included installation, operation, support, and strike of any special event in the park including the band, brew, and barbecue festival.
Jared is now living in Nashville, TN working as a Audio Visual Technician for LMG at the Music City Center.
