Lighting Design by Jared McGowan
Jared started designing lights at Middle Tennessee State University as a Freshman. He designed for the Dance and Theatre department several times including multiple main stage dance concerts and an original production featured at the 2011 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. During his college career, Jared also served as a lighting technician for MTSU's Production Services Department for one year and was then promoted to Lead Lighting Tech/ Lighting Designer, the Theatre Department Master Electrician, and the Master Electrician for the Nashville Shakepeare Festival.
Since graduating in 2011, Jared has worked as a lighting technician for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Bradfield Stage Lighting, and Convention Production Services (operating mainly at the Opryland Hotel and the Nashville Convention Center.)
Jared specializes in Dance Lighting Design. He enjoys the creative and collaborative process of taking a piece from the studio to the stage.
