Project Management: Hands On Nashville
Jared first volunteered with Hands On Nahsville during the Nashville Flood in 2010. After graduating college, He worked with the company on a contract basis from the fall of 2011 to the spring of 2012 and again in the spring of 2013. During that time, he acted as a project manager, construction consultant, and assistant manager on a plethora of projects . The projcts ranged from the Home Energy Savings program targeting low and very low income families in North and East Nashville to managing Large corporate projects for companies such as Ford, DaVita, Cummins and Starbucks. Volunteer groups for these projects range from 10-15 volunteers to 2,000 volunteers. Projects ranged from a complete facility remodel of a East Nashville Second Harvest food bank distribution center to building rain gardens in the communities.
Responsibilities included:
- pre-event site inspection and task identification- supply planning and procurement- budget adherence- participation in team planning sessions and event debriefs- client liaison and volunteer leader- on-site project coordination- risk assessment and safety trainings
